Coronafashion is here.
Now that the CDC has recommended that civilians use non-medical, cloth face masks in public places in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, fashion brands and DIY-ers have taken center stage to show you how you can get your very own Covid-19 approved face mask. Some brands / initiatives we love have even already sold out like, Reformation, HFS Collective but you can keep an eye out to see when they restock.
Although don’t currently have the resources to make our own masks for you all, we’ve rounded up a list of our favorite options that are available for purchase online right now. After all, face masks are the new symbol of solidarity.
PPE (personal protective equipment) is just one of the many voluntary public health measures that you can do to prevent the spread of coronavirus and to help flatten the curve – remember to keep up social distancing and hand washing because those are still #1 priority. The mask is really just a low-cost way to prevent spread in areas where social distancing of 6ft is hard to maintain. Remember, surgical masks and N-95 respirators are in short supply and are needed for use by our healthcare professionals.
If you’re wondering which mask to buy, many of the options out there are probably fine as long as they’re made according to CDC guidelines. We look for small businesses like us, an ethics or sustainability focus, and/or a community initiative through donation.
Who knew that one day bleach dyed sweat pant / sweatshirt sets and facemasks would be what’s in style? Well, we can definitely get behind comfy fashion that also keeps you healthy and safe.

ARMED ANGELS

Armed Angels, a Denmark company with a focus on eco-friendly and fair products, donates €2.00 to Doctors Without Borders for every organic cotton face mask purchased through their online store. Although located in Denmark, they are still shipping globally. We’re not sure how delivery times will be affected by the pandemic, but typically DHL International takes 1-3 weeks. Masks either have a phrase on them or are plain, and are available in 3 colors: tan, white, or black. Each mask is €9.00 but expect to pay much more with shipping costs included. The total was €41.17 to ship 1 mask to Florida, which is $44.48 USD. We suggest buying with friends and family, so you can go in on the shipping costs together, or buying for them so the cost feels worth it.

They are selling upcycled cotton face masks as single units and in a 4-pack. Orders are processed 12-14 days after purchase and are shipped globally from Canada.
